I've been sooo friggin busy lately that I haven't had time to spend much on the net. Still, only God knows how much I love my new lappy ::Grin::
Today is the very much long-awaited Boxing Day. Turrah :) and yet, I'm alone. For those who had absolute zero bit of idea what Boxing Day really means, well, I hope this helps:
Right. It's the only day in a year where you could drop your cash like it's hot. Just a mere ONE day. So, Anem and Amirah went out dropping out themselves real good at St laurent Shopping Centre here in Ottawa. Thus, me and my wide golden and yellowish teeth grinning in front of Shiba. My oh my... The consequence of not being my usual self, I suppose. And, for the love of God, I'm in dead-desperate need of cash. I guess that explains.
O dear, wait wait!! This will strongly prove that I'm not being me today: I cooked daging masak black pepper, sup ayam dan sayur campur. Drooling, anyone?? hehe..
Anyhow, I DO have something to crap about and here it goes. An update, people! aha. Went skiing yesterday and I did have a blast!! We had a sleepover at Kak Zidah's place the night before, only to cook for the day. We had karipap and ayam masak merah, and the other small groups of the trip would provide the rest.
Engine heated. It was 730am. The trip was organized by Muslim Student Association of Ottawa, which I forgot to mention earlier. We had to meet up at Carleton Uni at 8am. Got to Carleton around 815am or so, everyone was groggily exchange smiles and greets. Being in the waiting list wasn't unfortunate, I dare say. We had fun camwhoring till 1020am, be us going or not.
Finally, at 1030am, all of us were confirmed to go and ready to kick some serious butts at Mont Cascades, Gatineau-Hull, Quebec. woohoo~
It took us about half an hour to reach the place. The scenery was breathtaking! There was this lake, water flowing despite the supra-cool weather, with trees loaded with snow on the banks. Subhanallah.. On the way, I managed to set my cam's shutter on and thus:
Skiing wasn't fun for a rookie like me. Seeing heights and crowd of peeps down below set the adrenaline for me. But it was worth trying. I had a serious bizarre displacement of feet and body when I first went down the slope. And it got no better when it came to the second and third and fourth and... holy. I was bad. That I can assure you. It was so for Mira, Anem, Jeme, Baim and the rest, except Farah. She was having a hell of a good quality ski-time. She beamed all the way down the slope with no fear of falling or getting over anyone. I did go up with her and we had a skill-filled conversation but nahhh.. I ended up in vain. Still, I think I tried 4 or 5 times down the hill. kot. Couldn't exactly recall.
The weather was heaven, for sure. It was a sunny 0 degrees and it got up to -3 degree at most. Skiing on a Christmas Day was fun. Muslims were everywhere. I felt pretty much secured, partly because the probabilities of getting those odd stares and looks, lessened. Gahgahgah:)
And yeay, pictures DO lie, penzy! I looked as if I'm all set for the intermediate slope but nyeh nyeh... cw always fails me :D
Next up, we took a very last pose, after all of the stumblings, heads on toes, fumbles and ouches here and there:) We sure snapped it, weeee!!!!!
Mucho gracias dedicated to Kak Zidah and the rest of the company. We rocked Mont Cascade pretty well, I should say. Fare thee well, Mont Cascade!
Signing off for now.. Ta!
