Ice Ice Baby

This week has been all around brutal and epic at the same time. Epically brutal. Temperaturely speaking. It's so brutal and epic I just had to document it in a post, just in case if I want to recall the memory, ease me up when it's about time I tell my children how awesome their mother was/will be.

So some of you may have heard about the extreme heat wave gripping North America and some other parts of the world. It is unbelievably hot here! I heard that in China, a school put up a brick of huge ice in the middle of the class to cool down the extreme temperature. It may sound ridiculous but hell it's true. It's THAT hot. And overly humid, too. Imagine having to stand 15 minutes waiting for the bus when the sun decides to pull the trigger up to 45 degrees. Or 43 degrees. Or 41. Or all at the same time. The highest temperature Malaysia recorded was 40 degrees. Imagine that, plus another 5 degrees. Every day of the week. Hm. These make the traditional summer funs aren't as fun. My pair of Crocs was nowhere to be seen (since I ditched them for my newly bought Ked's flip flop- which of course, less sweaty and stinky) and layering are a thing of the past. I'm all for sheer blouses, shirts  and anything one-piece the entire week. But when outside being this extreme, to quote Iman, "Clothes aren't necessary".

Today, the sun was banging as I helplessly strolled down the pathway that led me to Nesbitt Biology Building from the bus stop. I caught myself worried. Constantly. Every step taken had me thinking of where I'd end up collapsing. "The next second I swing my leg, I'd be gone. The next second I swing my leg, I'd be gone". So I thought. Then, if it happens, I went on wondering if anybody at all would carry me to the side and send me to the hospital or at least sprinkle some water to my face and call the ambulance. I then had myself rummaging my handbag, ensuring that I had all my ID in it and handy, so if anyone sees me lying flat on the ground, they would know who to call. All I had in my tiny brain at that time was to make sure that all the of the possible precautionary means accessible because I was so weak and almost certain of passing out anytime soon.

The thoughts galore stopped when I realized the entrance door of my lab was only inches from my nose. My legs are programmed such that they know where to strut even if the brain isn't cooperating. I drew a faint smile, wiped the sweat off my forehead and rummaged my bag the second time, looking for the keys. Life was then, back to being normal: Me and my daily lab routines, which I reckon need no description here. The dysfunctional AC in the entire building didn't help but worsen my condition.

Not until a girl fainted next door. Situations had gotten all panicky post-faint. My fume hood made an alarm sound, due to the low flow (thanks to the extreme heat) and a few minutes later, the whole department was closed. When I was out for lunch, the Dean came in and told us that we could leave if we feel all sweaty and yucky because the air conditioner gone kaput. Fana had trouble breathing too when she dropped in. So we went home earlier that day.
That's basically it.

If you still are reading this, I think you should know that you've made yourself worthy of a friend and I shall applaud you for being so concern and patient towards nothingness because, after what seemed to me like a 2 pages essay, this post is absolutely pointless and ridiculously written. It's just one of those days where Nanue rambles her heart out, seeking for that much needed public attention after being stuck in the lab for the entire week, and also after being in a stupid eye to eye meet up last night with two men that mmm, broke my heart. I need time to heal, time to even look at them again, because I feel dumb and useless and sad beyond all verbs. Hence this post.

Thanks, you've come this far of reading and have a great week, lovelies!
